genius

I’m not going down on my knees
Begging you to adore me
Can’t you see it’s misery
And torture for me
When I’m misunderstood
Try as hard as you can
I’ve tried as hard as I could
To make you see
How important it is for me

Here is a plea
From my heart to you
Nobody knows me
As well as you do
You know how hard it is for me
To shake the disease
That takes hold of my tongue
In situations like these

Understand me

Some people have to be
Permanently together
Lovers devoted
To each other forever
Now, I’ve got things to do
And I’ve said before
That I know you have too
When I’m not there
In spirit I’ll be there

Subliminal sublime

I think it is subliminal, the fact that both Paolo Rumiz for his book TransEuropaExpress and this humble blog, got inspiration from Kraftwerk.

What is sure, is that Depeche Mode openly inspired themselves from it for Everything Counts…

And if this song makes you think of Berlin, Paris…the truth is in the middle…it was born in Dusseldorf.

The crazy side of girl Dusseldorf. Currents, rivers, electricity lines. The single mother of electronic sound.

Achtung baby!

Time is a train makes the future the past

Leaves you standing in the station

Your face pressed up against the glass

…tonight, Midi Station, Brussels: Achtung Europe…

PS

I had never noticed that in the U2’s Berlin maps there is my U-bahn station…this is destiny. And also, my idols (Bowie, U2, Depeche Mode) all had the same watering hole. Berlin. Funny – I am realising this only now!

Godfathers of Glam

I needed to rebalance the blog – after the picture of two posts ago, I needed to bring the level of glam up again. Now I feel better. Dave Gahan is always my favourite Godfather of Glam. And on video…he’s even better! When I was 14 I also listened to the transistor radio in bed, to Radio Caroline…
