In this section I will be uploading everyday photos taken in Rome, on my way to the office in the morning….on my way home…or taken during my lunch break.

Everyday Rome.

July 2011 – Verano bar before the opening

April 2011 – rushing to the movies.

Easter 2011. Villa Pamphilii. Cherry blossoms as usual in Rome. Our thoughts go to Japan.

April 2011. My morning friend. A fabulous black cat sunbathing in a tiny garden not far from my bus stop.

February 2011. Architecture reminding of Harry Seidler’s. Piazza delle Province.

February 2011. View from the Verano Cemetery. A place worth visiting. Really.

January 2011. San Lorenzo, Pastificio Cerere, where the Transavanguardia was born.

January 2011. San Lorenzo.

January 2011. San Lorenzo.

January 2010. A Spring-looking day. Via della Croce.

November. Inside it is a nightmare, but from outside our post office looks pretty awesome.

November 13th. An advertising   used as a Facebook wall. Sapienza University.

November 11th. Busy day ahead in the office, speeding in Via del Corso I need to stop to frame this image.

November 5th 2010. The Film Festival is over.

End of October. The other side of the red carpet.

Late October, foliage & graffiti near the Policnico metro station.

Tangerine scaffolding stuff.

A Vespa sunbathing like an old cat…

Rome delivering her colors and textures with generosity.

Rimozione, an Italian specialty.

September 2010 – on a Friday evening, the remains of the Summer still linger beyond the hospital skyline.

September 2010 – Tonight, approaching my bus stop, I saw this fantastic bride on the Ape Piaggio (Ape=bee). I got off the bus quickly, went around the bus and took a picture of the beautiful bride and the groom glued to his telefonino. The bride is beautifully Roman, don’t you think?

Winter 2009 in the lotti near Piazza Bologna, in our neighborhood. The lotti are something very close to an urban Siedlung.

Ochre yellow, pini marittimi, palms, is it roman enough for you? too polished and refurbished? we’ve got some nice decadent vistas as well, from last January…with mimosas almost in bloom…

She-wolves are absolute icons in Rome. But cats rule.

Romans tend to express their feelings in iconoclastic ways.

Ooops…sorry for the typo!

November 2009…the weather is too mild.

July 2009 – at the end of a very busy day in the office, eyes puzzled by the PC screen, the beauty of this graffiti-cum-flowers on a travertino-clad building nearby home imposes itself in the evening light.

CIMG0876June 2009 – the usual sight in front of the Spanish steps at midday, on an early summer day…

CIMG0001June 2009 – popping at the bank during lunch time, around the corner of Fontana di Trevi. Rome: authentic yet fake. Tacky yet magnificent. All rolled into one. Take it or leave it.

CIMG0012May 2009 – After the last minute grocery shopping before store close for the evening, crossing Via del Corso, right at the angle with Via Condotti, compulsory stop for these drop-dead azalee…they always surprise, even us locals.

CIMG0257March 2009  – too much traffic, bus is stuck. Walk to the office, from Casa del Cinema towards Pincio, crossing the Villa Borghese park (and don’t look at the blackberry now!)

March 2009 – let’s call it a day…with a glorious light, judging from the sunset on Via Tomacelli, towards the Tiber

The via Tomacelli picture is outstanding. Great light, colours and the motion gives a special feel to it.

    Brahms lullaby

    Lullaby and good night
In the sky stars are bright
    ‘Round your head
    Flowers gay
    Set you slumbers till day

    Lullaby and good night
In the sky stars are bright
    ‘Round your head
    Flowers gay
    Set you slumbers till day

    Close your eyes
    Now and rest
    May these hours
    Be blessed

    Close your eyes

    May these hours
    Be blessed

    Bonne nuit cher enfant
    Dans tes langes blancs
    Repose joyeux
    En revant des cieux

    Good night dear child
    In your white sheets
    Rest happy
    Dreaming of Heaven
    Quand le jour reviendra
    Tu te reveilleras
    Quand le jour reviendra
    Tu te reveilleras

    When day will be back
    You’ll wake up again

    You’ll wake up again
    Lullaby and good night
In the sky stars are bright
    ‘Round your head
    Flowers gay

Lullaby, and good night, with pink roses bedight,
With lilies o’er spread, is my baby’s sweet head.
Lay thee down now, and rest, may thy slumber be blessed!
Lay thee down now, and rest, may thy slumber be blessed!
Lullaby, and good night, your mother’s delight,
Shining angels beside my darling abide.
Soft and warm is your bed, close your eyes and rest your head.
Soft and warm is your bed, close your eyes and rest your head.
Sleepyhead, close your eyes. mother’s right here beside you.
I’ll protect you from harm, you will wake in my arms.
Guardian angels are near, so sleep on, with no fear.
