James Simon Galerie

p1260024

January 27th.

I want to dedicate the post of this important day to the new James Simon Galerie, on Museum Island. James Simon was a Jewish citizen of Berlin, a philantropist and entrepreneur, and he donated most of his collections to the museums. If we can admire Nefertiti at the Pergamon, it’s thanks to James Simon.

…like the tomatoes from dad’s garden – the seeds come from Calabria – perfectly transformed by mum in lovely, thick tomato sauce…for bringing some Italian sun to Dusseldorf and Leeds.

Our beloved K-rations! Very useful on rainy days – such as today…

Lojacono in Naples

P1230971I read over the weekend this Krimi…set in Naples.

It is really true, nothing best than a thriller novel to get into the fabric of a city. It is the perfect “genre” for depicting a city…

And so, the sunny weather which accompanied me and the Miciones this weekend, doing some gardening and reading on the balcony, is approaching the end. Tomorrow is Monday and it’s going to rain…
