breakfast in the factory

P1210068

Here, where solyanka and sausages were at home, we now have a slightly more decadent breakfast 🙂

Both we work in “virtual” topics. We do not build anything tangible in our jobs. We work with figures and words. We are always fascinated by places where people have built tangible objects or infrastructures. We visit and worship these places, cathedrals of work, with a lot of respect and admiration.

We doubt that when when we will be older, we will be able, like the little group of oldies who just came into the cafe’, to visit the premises where we once worked and produced stuff and look at that place with pride. In the reality we work in synthetic premises, our networks and laptops. The physical offices where this activity takes place has not much meaning. They will not become places of worship, like these.

Canal Grande

The Siena of coal and iron

P1210101

The beauty of this place is moving. In its own genre, it is as beautiful as Siena is. Harmony and incredible colors. Towers within the skyline.

P1210103Each time we come here it is breathtaking!

The mighty Rhine

P1190877

When we are in Dusseldorf together we go and check upon our friend Rhein….we used to cross it every day but now we live a bit more far apart and so we have to go and see the big thing flowing on purpose…we like to watch barges doing their dĂ©rapages…

We’ve followed this old boy from Andermatt until Bodensee by bycicle…we went biking along its shores near Bonn and Koblenz…we saw Kokereien huffing and puffing white smoke in the night in the Duisburg haven…discovered the roman paths around Xanthen and then did our bends along the fields on the Nieuwe Maas…we zoomed on speed boats in its waters in Rotterdam…we biked until the Nord Sea and saw the mighty damms…but we still need to discover some of its shores…from Koblenz towards Bodensee…June, Motorrad?

In the meantime, this fabulous docufilm shows the old boy in its magnificience…
