Stolpersteine, pietre d’inciampo

Especially nowadays when too much is virtual and online, doing stuff in the real world is important.

Today, if I were in Milan, I would join this march. I am in Dusseldorf and listen to Radio Popolare the interviews to people, young or older, who are there.

In Schoeneberg, our berliner Kiez, Stolpersteine are also explained with panels on every lamppost. No matter what we are doing, this message is always under our eyes, and remembering is never enough*.

Now also in Milan the Stolpersteine are being set on local streets, and yesterday the one of Dante Coen has been object of an act of vandalism. The Zeitgeist is not good, and we need to do something against this.

*Mehr als 6000 Personen – Juden und Nichtjuden – wurden aus Schoneberg deportiert und ermordet.
