Teal, a color I identify with Leeds.

And now, a photo I could not take. Last night, coming home, in front of the restaurant close to our home in Dusseldorf, while the cold evening kept patrons inside, two ducks, a male and a female, were sitting cosy  on the pavement with a couple of ruffled feathers and a slightly stiff upper beak look. Quiet. Showing a sense of ownership.

How strange! I wonder why they left their ponds, either in Zoo or at Hofgarten, and flew to our neighborhood. And there they were, in the middle of terrace furniture, right on the kerb, totally uninterested by the humans passing by in puffa jackets carrying their document bags and groceries and quickly looking for their keys…
