station spotting

They are shooting Trainspotting 2 in Edinburgh. Many years have gone by since the garish almost acid colors of the movie posters decorated our cities. Now, we spot stations not trains.

One year ago, MeinMann and I started doing  ISS spotting. We connected to the NASA website, plugged in our coordinates. And since then, whenever possible, we put our noses to the right direction to spot the girl zooming across the sky in a matter of seconds…

Then the neverending rain season started, and since MeinMann left to Leeds I stopped chasing the ISS from the balcony in the evenings. It was nice to hang on there with our glass of white wine waiting for the girl to appear behind the galbed roofs.

Yesterday I got a friendly and almost cheeky email from NASA asking me whether I wanted to renew the ISS spotting service. I did, Spring is on the doorstep. And I guess that, considering the speed she has, MeinMann and I can spot her from behind the roofs, in Leeds and Dusseldorf, exactly at the same time…like spotting the moon, really…
